Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Liverpool are set to be without Trent Alexander-Arnold for a few more weeks. Liverpool's injury crisis went from bad to worse against City after Alexander-Arnold went down unchallenged clutching at his calf.
The only positive for Liverpool was that they were entering a two-week international break with the full-back given a chance to recuperate while not missing many games.
He was originally expected to be out for a month, although there were some suggestions that he would be back quicker.
The game against Leeds was always going to come too soon for the 22-year-old, but Klopp will be desperate to have him back available soon.
Klopp opted to name vice-captain James Milner as Alexander-Arnold's replacement against Leeds, with Neco Williams on the bench.
"Neco is doing really well - saw him playing for Wales - he played really well.
"But he played a slightly different system, came back on Thursday but it's good to have Millie. Always good to have Millie to be honest."
Liverpool face a busy period with the match against Leeds being the first of nine in the space of 27 days.
It's in central defence though where Klopp remains short of options.
