Sir Bobby Charlton is widely regarded as one of England's greatest ever players. He helped the country win the 1966 World Cup and also had a stellar playing career with Manchester United.
How old is Sir Bobby Charlton?
Charlton was born on October 11, 1937, making him 83 years old.
His wife, Lady Norma, announced via the Telegraph on Sunday that the footballing hero has been diagnosed with dementia.
He becomes the fifth member of the famous 1966 World Cup to be diagnosed with the illness.

His brother Jack, who died in July, and former United team-mate Nobby Stiles, who died on Friday, both had dementia.
Ray Wilson and Martin Peters died in 2018 and 2019 respectively after living with the illness.
News of Charlton's condition had led to a wave of support on social media.
Former England striker Gary Lineker tweeted: "Yet another hero of our 1966 World Cup winning team has been diagnosed with dementia.
"Perhaps the greatest of them all, @SirBobby. This is both very sad and deeply concerning."
A fan wrote: "Extremely sad news about Bobby Charlton being diagnosed with dementia.
"Thoughts with Bobby and his family during this tough time."

Another tweeted: "Saddened to hear that Sir Bobby Charlton is suffering from dementia. A true legend of the game."
Charlton scored 249 goals in 758 appearances for United.
The club have also released a statement in the wake of Charlton's condition.
The Red Devils said: "Everyone at Manchester United is saddened that this terrible disease has afflicted Sir Bobby Charlton.
"We continue to offer our love and support to Sir Bobby and his family."
Charlton was also a key part of England's famous 1966 World Cup winning side.
He earned 106 caps for his country, scoring 49 goals.
