Arsenal ace Mesut Ozil is well down the pecking order at the Emirates and Mikel Arteta choosing not to use the Gunners star is actually helping the club financially. That's because the German has a number of appearance-based bonuses in his contract.

The Athletic claim that with the World Cup winner not playing for Arsenal the club are saving a significant amount of money based on the appearance bonuses in his contract.
However, the Gunners did just have to pay out £8million to Ozil at the end of September as a loyalty bonus had been reached.
