Said Benrahma to West Ham now off after stunning twist as Hammers plan £18m alternative
A medical had been booked for this week for Said Benrahma to complete his £25million move from Brentford to West Ham.
Said Benrahma: Brentford star demonstrates skills in training
West Ham's proposed deal to sign Said Benrahma from Brentford has reportedly collapsed, despite an agreement being in place from all parties. Benrahma was a revelation in the Championship last season, playing a big role in helping the side reach the play-off final.
His performances led to plenty of speculation linking him with a move up to the Premier League.
Ollie Watkins was similarly attracting interest though and the striker soon sealed a £30m move to Aston Villa.
But a move for Benrahma before the close of the European transfer window failed to materialise.
There's still a chance for the Algeria international to secure his move to the English top flight with the domestic window open until October 16.

And West Ham have shown the most intent in making a deal happen.
Reports emerged over the weekend that there had been a breakthrough in negotiations between West Ham and Brentford.
The Hammers are said to have agreed to pay £17million guaranteed with £8m in add-ons.
And a medical was said to have all been booked for Wednesday, but now the deal looks to have suddenly collapsed.

West Ham spark transfer fury with £13m bid separate to Benrahma talks
According to the Daily Mirror, West Ham have now switched their focus to Bournemouth striker Josh King.
Benrahma is said to be furious with Brentford for 'broken promises'.
The report adds the 25-year-old personally contacted Brentford director of football Phil Giles to vent his frustration.
For West Ham though, they're reportedly now hoping to strike a deal with Bournemouth for King.
They've already had a bid worth £13m rejected by the south-coast outfit.
But it is claimed that David Moyes is more keen on the club pushing through a deal to sign King over Benrahma, suggesting a late change in West Ham's transfer strategy.
The 28-year-old has just one year left on his contract though with Bournemouth unlikely to allow him to leave for free next year.
