Chelsea transfer shortlist: The two players Lampard wants to sign before deadline
Chelsea have been busy in the transfer window but they may add some more new faces before the deadline. Who is on Frank Lampard's shortlist?
Declan Rice transferring to Chelsea 'makes sense' says pundit
Chelsea have made significant signings during the transfer window, spending over £200million on new arrivals. The Blues secured a top-four finish under Frank Lampard in his debut season at the helm and have backed the 42-year-old heavily in the market in a bid to close the gap on the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.
Chelsea started their business early with the signings of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.
The Blues then strengthened their defence by bringing in Thiago Silva on a free transfer and Ben Chilwell from Leicester.
Kai Havertz joined in a £70m transfer from Bayer Leverkusen, while goalkeeper Edouard Mendy became their latest arrival following a £22m switch from Rennes.
Lampard, though, may still conduct further business and he recently revealed the importance he has places on selling the club to potential signings.

Speaking earlier this month, he said: "You understand when it is the competition with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City that you need to state your best case to the player.
"I think having been that player at one point, the idea as a manager is to try and sell the club and how I want to move forward.
"Petr (Cech) in his role does the same and I do that to the best of my ability when I speak to players."

Chelsea: Lampard's defensive coaching questioned by Cross
Who is on Chelsea's transfer shortlist?
Declan Rice, West Ham
Chelsea have been linked with a move for Rice for much of the transfer window.
Lampard is said to be "in love" with the West Ham midfielder and a bid could be made before the deadline.
The Hammers, though, have reportedly slapped a huge £80m price tag on the 21-year-old.
Nico Melamed, Espanyol
The Blues were reportedly eyeing up a move for Melamed last month.
However, it remains unclear whether there is still interest in the Spanish Under-19 international at this point.
Melamed has come through the youth ranks at Espanyol and has also attracted the attention of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The talented midfielder is contracted until 2023 but his release clause sits at just £7.2m (€8m).
