Arsenal injury news: Expected return dates of Cedric and Martinelli ahead of Liverpool tie
Arsenal have seven first team stars in the treatment room and one or two may return for Liverpool.
Arsenal: Mikel Arteta addresses Houssem Aouar transfer rumours
Arsenal face Liverpool once again on Thursday after losing to the Premier League champions 3-1 on Monday. The two sides will face off in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
Injuries have caused Mikel Arteta a few issues but he was able to welcome back David Luiz in Monday's fixture. Kieran Tierney was another who played after returning from injury but there are plenty who still remain in the treatment room.
Here's a full look at Arsenal's injured players ahead of the Liverpool fixture...
Pablo Mari
Injury: Ankle
Expected return date: Late October
The defender is due to return to training by the end of the month after being sidelined since June.
Mari limped out of the 3-0 defeat to Manchester City last season, lasting just 24 minutes.
The Gunners still signed the centre-back on a permanent deal who then underwent ankle surgery.
Mari will likely return after the October international break.

Sokratis
Injury: Calf
Expected return date: October 4
The Greek centre-back is actually expected to leave the club but Arteta would not be able to select him anyway.
Sokratis has struggled with a calf strain of late and returned to full training at the end of last week.
He was not selected in the squad that faced Liverpool.
Calum Chambers
Injury: ACL
Expected return date: January 2021
Another defender who is unavailable for selection for Mikel Arteta. Chambers began the 2019/20 season in terrific form but ACL injuries are tough and the road to recovery is long.
Chambers is only hoping to return to full training by the end of the year.

Shkodran Mustafi
Injury: Hamstring
Expected return date: Early November
Like Sokratis, Mustafi is another defender who has been linked with the exit.
The German has been out of action since Arsenal's FA Cup semi-final win over Manchester City last season. He underwent a small procedure and has so far been focussing on gym work.
Mustafi should return to training in October and available for selection in November.
Gabriel Martinelli
Injury: Knee
Expected return date: January 2021
A brutal injury for Martinelli to suffer a week into the Premier League's restart. The 19-year-old made a superb impact in his first season and Arteta will be desperate to welcome the wonderkid back.
But he'll have to wait a while. Martinelli should be back in training in December and return to match fitness in January.

Emile Smith Rowe
Injury: Shoulder
Expected return date: October 17
On loan at Huddersfield last season Smith Rowe's chances of cracking the Arsenal first team have so far been halted by a shoulder problem.
However, the club have said: "Now out of protective sling and aiming to return to full training within the next week."
Cedric Soares
Injury: Calf
Expected return date: October 1
Like Mari, Soares joined Arsenal on loan last January before seeing his move made permanent. And like Mari Soares has seen injuries halt his match time.
However, it appears the full-back has returned to full fitness and may even feature against Liverpool this Thursday.
