Liverpool fans think Jurgen Klopp has made transfer mistake after loan exit confirmed
Loris Karius will join the German club on a season-long loan deal, with Klopp happy with the options in his squad
Liverpool: Experts discuss the signing of Thiago Alcantara
Liverpool fans believe Jurgen Klopp has made a transfer mistake in allowing Loris Karius to leave the club on loan. The German completed the switch to Bundesliga side Union Berlin on Monday, leaving Alisson and Adrian as the senior options at Anfield.
Alisson emerged as a potential doubt for Liverpool’s clash with Arsenal, but looks to have shaken off his issues with him being named in the starting XI.
Had he not passed his fitness test, Adrian would have replaced the Brazilian, as he did for large portions of last season.
Klopp’s No.1 struggled with a hip and thigh injury last term, missing a third of the campaign in total.
Adrian enjoyed a steady time in Alisson’s place, although he did mistakes in their Champions League exit against Atletico Madrid.

Of course, Karius’ Liverpool legacy will be defined by mistakes in Europe’s top competition.
Back in 2018, the 27-year-old made two, high-profile errors in the final, as Real Madrid broke Liverpool hearts in Kiev.
Following that, Klopp sanctioned a big-money move for Alisson from Roma, with Karius taken out of the limelight.
He has spent the last two seasons on loan with Besiktas and will now link up with the Bundesliga side, wearing the number 20 shirt.

After signing, Karius said: "I'm looking forward to my new opportunity in Berlin and I'm happy to be playing in the Bundesliga again.
"Union is a special club, one that has earned a great deal of respect, not just by promotion to the Bundesliga. I would like to play my part in this positive development and help to achieve the great goal of staying in the Bundesliga."
Oliver Ruhnert, Director of Professional Football at Union Berlin, added: "The signing of Loris Karius means we have secured a goalkeeper with great national and international experience.
However, many fans believe Klopp should have kept Karius within his squad as opposed to former West Ham stopper Adrian.

“Awful decision to send him on loan. He's the second best Keeper at the club easily,” one fan said.
A second replied: “Better than Adrian, should be keeping him. Shambolic from us this is tbh.”
“Though Adrian can make some good stops, his keeping style is too casual and error-prone. Karius was much better in that regard,” another supporter suggested.
A fifth posted: “I actually want him to do well, ruined by one bad game,” a fifth said, while another concluded: “Karius is better than Adrian just saying”.
