Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ‘not a happy man’ over board's Jadon Sancho message
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants Jadon Sancho signed quickly.
Jadon Sancho: Man Utd 'only potential buyer' says expert
Manchester United officials are still confident that they’ll be able to sign Jadon Sancho this summer, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is getting concerned that he is still being told to wait for a move to be completed. That’s according to Ian McGarry of the Transfer Window Podcast.
United are running out of time to secure a deal to sign Sancho before the transfer window closes on October 5th.
The Red Devils have been tracking him throughout the summer, and have seen multiple bids rejected by Borussia Dortmund.
They have been told to pay £108million in one go, but are confident they’ll be able to get that fee lowered before the window closes.
United are believed to have agreed personal terms with the 20-year-old over a five-year contract worth £340,000-per-week.
However, the structure of the transfer fee is the only stumbling block, with fans growing restless with anticipation ahead of the final stages of the window.
But McGarry believes United chiefs still expect to get the deal over the line for Sancho, and that is the reason they haven’t pressed on with bids for any of their alternative targets.
He said: “I’m told from people involved in the deal from the Manchester United side that they remain calm. They believe Sancho will be a Manchester United player.
“They’re also convinced that Borussia Dortmund will agree a deal that is suitable for both parties, or all three parties when you count in the player as well, because they don’t believe they’ll be able to raise the value of the player any higher if they wait another year.

“I think that’s one of the reasons why we haven’t seen any other players signed.
“Let’s face it, if you’re Manchester United you have the resources – maybe not the reputation you once possessed – but you have the history and tradition on your side and the wherewithal to acquire a player in that right sided attacking midfield position. But still, United haven’t signed anyone.”
United’s season started poorly last weekend with a 3-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace in their Premier League opener.
And McGarry added that Solskjaer has started to grow concerned over the club’s inability to finalise the deal for Sancho.
However, the manager has apparently been told to relax, and McGarry explained he could use the negotiations to his advantage if results keep going against him.
McGarry added: “We saw how poor and uncreative they were in that defeat to Crystal Palace last weekend, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer I’m told hasn’t been a happy man in training in Carrington because he feels the heat of the fans, and pressure on himself for results.
“He wants this to be concluded as soon as possible, but every time he asks the question of members of the board and recruitment department, the response is that it’s all under control and he needs to wait.
“The waiting game for Solskjaer, perhaps he can use that to his advantage? If he gets a few negative results before that bit of business, he can point to the fact he was told he had to wait because United wouldn’t rush in and pay over the odds.
“Sancho remains very much on the table, it’s very likely to happen, but you need all three parties in agreement, at this point they only have two – United and the player. They need Dortmund to agree to the payment structure in place.”
