Manchester United appear to have made signing a full-back one of their top priorities this summer before the transfer window slams shut on October 6. Alex Telles is understood to be at the top of their list, but Porto’s £36m asking price is making negotiations for Ed Woodward difficult.
United target Alex Telles is still keen to join the Red Devils but is facing an uphill struggle with Porto holding out on his hefty price tag.
The Brazilian left-back is being mooted for a move to Old Trafford this summer, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to continue to improve his squad.
However, according to the Telegraph, there are issues over Porto’s £36.6m asking price.
The report claims that Telles is very keen to seal a switch to the Premier League, but the club’s high demands are preventing a deal from going ahead, as things stand.

It’s thought that Porto know of his intentions to move, but with the clubs still far apart in their valuation, talks continue to rumble on.
Telles insisted that he was focussed on the job at hand in Portugal, but failed to rule out a possible move this summer.
"I’m a guy who focuses a lot on work, people believe what they want, say what they want in the newspapers, but the most important thing is to be focused on my work," Telles told Sport TV last week.
“You know that and so do my teammates, whatever happens, I’m focused on the club, I’m here, I’m playing."

Former United striker insisted that their dismal display against Crystal Palace last weekend showed how much they need a new, pacey centre-back to partner Harry Maguire.
"They have less than two weeks until the window closes, and they can play some more games to figure out what they need in that time, but it's not easy,” Berbatov told Betfair.

"It can be hard to sign players, maybe the players don't want to come, it is hard to say, but their defence is what they need to work on.
"The goals they conceded at the weekend were poor defensive goals.
"If they don't strengthen up, it will be a long season for them.
"They need someone alongside Harry Maguire, look at how impressive he has been since he came in, and he is now captain.
"They need someone who is fast like Rio Ferdinand was for Nemanja Vidic."
