Man Utd transfer negotiator holds emergency talks to sign new two players
Manchester United are looking to do business in the final few weeks of the summer transfer window.
Man Utd: Solskjaer addresses transfers after Palace defeat
Manchester United officials have reportedly held an emergency transfer meeting in response to their opening Premier League defeat against Crystal Palace. The Red Devils suffered a humiliating 3-1 loss to Roy Hodgson's side at the weekend, further highlighting the club's need to bring in fresh faces.
Their current only summer signing, Donny van de Beek, scored United's only goal of the game in an otherwise uninspired and lacklustre performance.
United's lack of transfer activity was made that more apparent at the weekend with both Liverpool and Tottenham announcing two new signings each.
Liverpool brought in Diogo Jota and Thiago Alcantara while Tottenham swooped in to sign Gareth Bale on a season-long loan as well bringing in former United target Sergio Reguilon.
Chelsea and Manchester City both got their summer transfer activity done early in the window, along with Arsenal.

Even clubs such as Aston Villa and Leeds have spent more than the £40million United paid to sign Van de Beek, sparking anger among the fanbase.
And it appears as though the defeat to Palace at the weekend has sparked United's transfer officials into action.
According to Manchester Evening News, United transfer negotiator Matt Judge held a meeting with intermediaries to try and get plans for new signings moving forward.
It is claimed that United are focussing their efforts on signing two new players before the October 5 deadline.

Bringing in a right-sided attacker had been the club's priority for much of the transfer window, with Jadon Sancho the main target.
But there's said to have been a "shift" in United's transfer plans to focus more on defensive recruits.
A left-back appears to be at the top of their list and Alex Telles is being monitored by the club.
The 27-year-old has just one year left on his contract and Porto boss Sergio Conceicao answered questions on Telles' future at the weekend.
He said: "I don't think about it, the market is not about me.
"I am not a manager, I am a coach and I have to train the players I have. Obviously I would like to count on everyone and if someone else came in, I would not be upset at all."
But United could also reportedly turn their attention to Dynamo Kiev left-back Vitaliy Mykolenko.
As well as signing a left-back, United are also said to be focussing on finding a new partner for Harry Maguire.
Ed Woodward would likely need to sell first though with seven centre-backs currently at the club.
Chris Smalling has strongly been linked with a move to Roma all summer while Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo have both been told to find new clubs.
