Ozan Kabak to Liverpool: Schalke's stance on transfer as Reds make contact over £23m ace
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is believed to be keen to add more options to his defence.

Schalke are reportedly willing to sell defender Ozan Kabak to Liverpool if the right offer comes in for the player. Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly keen on Turkey international Kabak to bolster his defence with Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk his only options at centre-back.
Liverpool’s hopes of signing young centre-back Kabak have been given a boost, following reports from Bundesliga journalist Chris Williams.
Klopp is believed to be eyeing more additions to his squad as his players set out to claim back-to-back Premier League titles.
Schalke youngster Kabak is understood to be on their radar with uncertainties about the defence following the shaky 4-3 win over Leeds at home last weekend.

The Reds now only have Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk as their options at centre-half, having sold Dejan Lovren to Zenit St Petersburg earlier this summer.
Kabak, 20, is seen as an ideal option for Liverpool due to his exciting potential, while he is young enough to know he will probably not be a first team regular.
It’s thought that Schalke are determined to keep him as part of their side for the coming season.
But journalist Chris Williams claims that the German club would sell him if the right offer came in for the 20-year-old.
He tweeted: “Schalke sources confirm Liverpool have contacted them about Ozan Kabak.

He is unlikely to make his debut against Chelsea on Sunday though, with Klopp admitting he was yet to meet his latest addition.
“I didn’t make the squad now for Sunday,” said Klopp. “We will see what we can do. I didn’t meet him now, we had only phone calls and exchanged messages. So, let’s have a look how he feels.
“Around a transfer like this the days are pretty busy with things you usually don’t do. If he looks alright, we will find the right place for him.”
