Man Utd: Pundits discuss ‘major development’ in Sancho transfer
Manchester United could move for Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish as hopes over Jadon Sancho begin to fade, it has been claimed. Sancho has been Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s top target throughout the transfer window so far. But the Red Devils could be forced to change tact with Borussia Dortmund holding firm in negotiations.
Manchester United’s interest in Sancho dates back to the summer transfer window of 2017, back when the forward was at Manchester City.
Jose Mourinho hoped to recruit the England international that year but ended up missing out, with the player choosing to prioritise regular football at Dortmund instead.
United also enquired about a possible deal for Sancho 12 months ago, only for their failure to qualify for the Champions League to count against them.
So far this summer, they’ve found Dortmund tough negotiators.
The Bundesliga giants will only let their star asset go if they receive a bid of £108million, determined to secure maximum profit on a player regarded as one of Europe’s most-promising stars.
Yet Sky Sports reporter Pete Graves has claimed United could move for Grealish now as a result.

“Heard Solskjaer could move for @JackGrealish as hopes over Jadon Sancho fade," he said on Twitter.
United have all but secured their first summer signing, with Donny van de Beek poised to join from Ajax.
The Netherlands international, like Grealish, is predominantly a No 10 who can also play in a deeper midfield role if required.
But the Villa star is also capable of playing out wide and, as a result, United are pondering whether to bring him to Old Trafford as a Sancho alternative.
Dean Smith’s side have slapped a £75million price tag on the 24-year-old, who has been drafted into the England squad following Marcus Rashford’s withdrawal from injury.
And who United ultimately end up signing remains to be seen.
