Liverpool's stance on Georginio Wijnaldum transfer as Ronald Koeman eyes Barcelona reunion
Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is being eyed up by Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman.
Liverpool: Wijnaldum shows off skills as he returns to training
Liverpool currently have no interest in selling Barcelona transfer target Georginio Wijnaldum to Ronald Koeman. The Holland international was a key part of Jurgen Klopp's title-winning side last season and is a vice-captain to skipper Jordan Henderson.
Wijnaldum is expected to start on Saturday when Liverpool take on Arsenal in the campaign-opening Community Shield at Wembley.
There is, though, uncertainty over the 29-year-old's future, with less than 12 months left to run on his current Anfield contract.

Koeman is keen to secure a reunion with his fellow Dutchman, who he's coached at international level, having taken charge of Barcelona in the wake of Quique Setien's sacking.
However, Liverpool have no desire to cash in on Wijnaldum, who left Newcastle to move to Merseyside back in the summer of 2016.

Goal report the Reds plan to keep hold of the Feyenoord academy graduate, even though talks over a contract extension have not taken place for some time.
Wijnaldum, for his part, has shown no indication he fancies a switch to the Nou Camp to work under Koeman once again.
Liverpool's stance on Wijnaldum's future might change in the coming weeks, with Thiago Alcantara tipped to bolster the Reds' midfield ranks.
Bayern Munich are holding out for a £27m fee for the Spaniard, the arrival of whom could push Klopp-favourite Wijnaldum out of the door.

Klopp admitted last month, though, that the impact of the coronavirus pandemic has impacted the Premier League champions' spending power.
"It will be tricky and we have to deal with the circumstances," said Klopp. "The situation, as we have said several times, it is really difficult to judge the future. That is always what we have to do. We have to judge the future.
"Usually, we know about the financial funds that we have as much as you can know. At the moment we are qualified for the Champions League and we were qualified pretty early for the Champions League and usually that is good.
"But a few weeks ago nobody knew if we could play Champions League next season again. Can you count on the money of the Champions League and how much will it be? That is all uncertain and that is what we consider because we are not only responsible for the success of the club, we are responsible for all the people at the club and that means everyone who is working here. That is what we try to do. As long as we don’t know exactly about things, we have to wait.
"We have a really good squad, we have to see what we can do, we have to see what we have to do, we need still more time. Time will hopefully bring a bit more clarity about the future and then we will make our decisions."
