How Liverpool could line up against Leeds in Premier League opener with two new signings
Liverpool have just three weeks until they begin the defence of their Premier League season.
Premier League fixtures announced as Liverpool aim to retain title
Liverpool start the defence of their Premier League season against newly-promoted Leeds on September 12 and Express Sport has taken a look at what squad Jurgen Klopp may have available to him with a couple new signings. Liverpool had been tipped to be busy in the summer transfer window prior to the coronavirus pandemic.
The financial implications though led to Liverpool reviewing their transfer budget, ultimately pricing them out of a move for top target Timo Werner.
Still, the Reds have already made a few changes to their squad this summer.
Adam Lallana has left after his contract at Anfield expired while Dejan Lovren joined Zenit St Petersburg for £11million.
That money was soon used to bring in a back-up left-back to Andy Robertson to sign Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiacos.

The 24-year-old had reportedly been on Liverpool's radar for some time now and he could potentially make his debut in the Community Shield next week against Arsenal.
But Klopp will hope to do more business in the transfer window before the start of the Premier League season in three weeks.
Liverpool's interest in Werner suggested a new forward was a top priority for Klopp to provide competition for Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.
But their limited transfer budget could well mean that Klopp opts to wait until next summer to bring in a new recruit.

That may also result in Rhian Brewster staying at the club and being given more of a chance this season after impressing on loan at Swansea.
Liverpool are well stocked in midfield with Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Georginio Wijnaldum the preferred three last season.
But there is concern regarding Wijnaldum's future at the club and new Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman reportedly wants to sign the midfielder.
Wijnaldum's future has seemingly been directly linked with Liverpool's interest in Thiago Alcantara.
Bayern Munich reportedly want £27m for the Spain international and Liverpool may press ahead with negotiations if Wijnaldum does leave the club.
Liverpool's potential matchday squad vs Leeds:
Starting XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Thiago; Salah, Firmino, Mane
Subs: Adrian, Tsimikas, Matip, Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Origi, Brewster
