Thomas Partey: Arsenal move would be 'surprising' says Balague
Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for Ajax attacker Quincy Promes.
The Gunners are on the verge of announcing the signing of Willian on a free transfer after he confirmed his exit from Chelsea.
And manager Mikel Arteta wants to add more quality to a squad that finished 43 points behind Premier League winners Liverpool.
Arteta has options in the wide areas with Pepe, Reiss Nelson and Gabriel Martinelli, once he recovers from a knee injury.
But it appears Arteta wants to add more experience to his options.
According to The Sun, Arsenal are looking at Promes, who scored 16 goals and provided five assists last season and is valued at around £25million.
The 28-year-old, who impressed in matches against Chelsea in the Champions League, is also a regular in the Dutch national team.
The report cites a source close to Promes as saying: "Quincy would go in a heartbeat.
"It would be a great move for him - and Arsenal.”
Elsewhere, Arsenal have announced the departures of two young players on season-long loans.
Zech Medley has joined League One side, Gillingham, on loan for next season.
The 20-year-old made his first-team debut in November 2018 in the Europa League.
This past season, the defender was restricted to displays in Premier League 2 and EFL Trophy.
While Zak Swanson has joined Dutch side MVV Maastricht for the season.
The 19-year-old is a product of Arsenal's Hale End academy and signed his first professional contract in April 2019.
Swanson is yet to appear for the first-team but was a regular in Premier League 2 and EFL Trophy last season.
