Liverpool considering swap deal for Jamal Lewis as three-man transfer shortlist emerges
Reports emerged last night claiming Liverpool were ready to make their move for Norwich's Jamal Lewis.
Liverpool: Klopp needs to ‘refresh’ the squad says pundit
Liverpool could reportedly offer a player-plus-cash deal for Norwich full-back Jamal Lewis. The Premier League champions are looking to bring the Northern Ireland international to Anfield this summer, with the aim of providing some additional cover for Andy Robertson.
Lewis has been one of the only shining lights in a dismal Norwich side which finished bottom of the pile, recording a record fifth relegation from the Premier League.
His energy and eye for a cross saw him flagged up by Liverpool's recruitment team and his statistics are similar to those of a young Robertson at Hull.
The Reds snapped up the Scottish international in the summer of 2017 when the Tigers were relegated from the Premier League.
Targeting relegated players is a tactic they also used before with Gini Wijnaldum (Newcastle) and Xherdan Shaqiri (Stoke). All three have proved to be successful at Anfield.

James Milner has been playing the role as back-up left-back but now feels like the time to sign somebody who is a more natural fit for the position.
The Liverpool vice-captain spent the entirety of the 2016/17 campaign playing there but has since admitted he did not enjoy it.
The Daily Mirror claim that Liverpool are eyeing a move for £10million rated Lewis and Yasser Larouci could head the other way to Carrow Road.
Larouci has snubbed a new Liverpool deal and has just one year remaining on his contract.
He wants to play regular football though with Leeds and Brentford also among those interested.

In Larouci, Norwich would already have a replacement for Lewis who fits their recruitment model.
There was hope around Melwood that he could step up and be Robertson's deputy but he has instead decided to move on.
The report also adds that Liverpool are looking at two other defends.
As Express Sport reported, Bournemouth's Lloyd Kelly is back on the agenda.
The club tried to sign him from Bristol City last summer before being priced out of the deal.

Kelly can play at both centre-back and left-back, which are the two areas Liverpool want to add new faces.
Lastly, Ben White is also being considered as a replacement for Dejan Lovren.
The Croatian sealed a move to Zenit St Petersburg last week and now the Reds need to bring in more cover at centre-back.
White was a standout figure in the Leeds side that won the Championship but he will be returning to his parent club Brighton this summer.
