Jadon Sancho family member lets slip star wanted Liverpool transfer over Man Utd move
Manchester United appear to be closing in on a move for Jadon Sancho.
Man Utd 'keeping number 7 shirt free for Sancho' claims pundit
Liverpool may have had an even better chance of signing Jadon Sancho than Manchester United with one family member said to have confirmed the Borussia Dortmund winger preferred the idea of a move to Anfield initially. Sancho looks to be on the verge of leaving Borussia Dortmund after an impressive two years in the Bundesliga.
Dortmund have been reluctant to lower their asking price but it seems as though United are close to agreeing a fee to complete the summer transfer.
The Red Devils have been the frontrunners for his signature for several months now.
It was expected to be another summer of record-breaking spending in the Premier League prior to the coronavirus pandemic.
Clubs all over Europe were being linked with a move for Sancho, but the pandemic has led to several teams taking stock of their finances.

Liverpool are one such club who have made it clear the COVID-19 outbreak meant they had to restructure their summer transfer plans.
Timo Werner looked almost certain to be on his way to Anfield with the striker making it known that Liverpool was his preferred destination.
But when the Reds failed to pay his release clause, Chelsea swooped in to sign the Germany international.
And Liverpool may be set to miss out on another top European talent who wanted a move to Anfield.

Why Liverpool aren't battling Man Utd or Chelsea for Sancho or Havertz
It was reported in Germany last week that Sancho would choose joining Liverpool over United if the opportunity presented itself.
And one of Sancho's family members confirmed to talkSPORT that was the case.
Although it is said that was before the coronavirus pandemic.
It looks as though United are going to get their No 1 transfer target with reports suggesting talks with Dortmund at an "advanced stage".
Dortmund are holding out for a deal in excess of £100million and United look likely to meet that with instalments and add-ons.
The German club had stood firm on their asking price, but they have softened their stance on an upfront cost.
They are keen to get an agreement in place before August 10, when the players are expected to return from their summer break for pre-season.
If United do secure Sancho's signature in a deal worth £108m he will become the most expensive British player in history.
