Liverpool: Thiago Alcantara would ‘strengthen squad’ says pundit
Jurgen Klopp has been speaking about Thiago again but he insists there is nothing new to share on the matter. Supporters are desperate for the Reds to make their move for the seven-time Bundesliga champion.
That's after Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge revealed confirmed the club intended to sell the midfielder this summer.
“He is a top boy on and off the pitch,” Rummenigge said at the start of the month.
“We had serious negotiations with him and fulfilled all of his wishes. But it looks like he might want to do something new again at the end of his career.
“We have never had any contact with Liverpool. If he wants to do that, we have to deal with it.

“We don’t want to lose a player for free next year. I say that very clearly.”
Klopp has reportedly given the green-light for a deal for Thiago, should the board be willing to oblige and put their hands in their pockets.
As proved with Timo Werner, they will ultimately have the final say when it comes to recruitment and finances.
At 29, Thiago does not align with their transfer policy but in the current financial climate, he could prove to be a useful solution in a difficult market.
