But Aaron Wan-Bisssaka's £45m switch from Crystal Palace last summer has pushed him down the pecking order and restricted his first-team opportunities.
Dalot has found the going tough behind Wan-Bissaka, with injury problems not helping either, being limited to 11 appearances across all competitions.
According to The Telegraph, the Portugal Under-21 international wants regular first-team football to get his career back on track.
Unfortunately for Dalot, Solskjaer is not convinced by his ability, with Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams also preferred on the opposite flank.

He has not featured in the Premier League since the restart, but expressed confidence in his ability before last month's kick off.
“Now I prefer to play at the back. Right-back is my position, it’s where I feel more comfortable," he said.
"It’s where I want to be and where I want to build my career.
"I’m enjoying playing there and I want to be the best player that I can in that position.”
