Newcastle: Joelinton’s position discussed by pundits
Newcastle's hopes of keeping Allan Saint-Maximin are tied to whether the proposed £300million takeover can be completed. That is the view of former England and Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson.

Neither club has much money to spend and Newcastle's position is strengthened further by the six-year contract Saint-Maximin signed last year.
But if the ongoing takeover saga results in the deal being called off, Newcastle could face a battle to hold on to the forward.
And while Robinson feels Saint-Maximin is not the player Spurs need, he reckons Newcastle needs the takeover to get the green light to allow them to keep their star man.

“There is only so many players that can play on a football pitch and they already have a wealth of talent there.
“Saint-Maximin is having an outstanding season and he is going to attract interest from a lot of places but it all depends on what happens at Newcastle with the takeover.
“If they do get this influx of money and they can match other teams wages and rebuff big transfer offers then I think it will be really, really important for Newcastle to keep hold of him.
Despite Robinson's comments, Newcastle manager Steve Bruce is adamant Saint-Maximin will not be leaving St James' Park.
“There’s no chance of Allan leaving. No chance at all," he said.
“I wouldn’t put a price on Allan now. When you look at the level of money we bought him for, he’s arguably the best pound-for-pound signing in the Premier League. You show me another better.
"When you look at what he’s produced for us, we have probably got the buy of the season. He’s blessed with unique skills, which he’s got in abundance.”
