How Chelsea's squad to stop Liverpool could look next season - with two more signings
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will be eager to beat Liverpool to the Premier League title when next season rolls around.
Chelsea: Lampard says he is ‘excited’ to sign Werner
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is eager to win the Premier League title as a manager, having won the prize during his playing days at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have already enjoyed a fruitful start to the transfer window, securing the arrivals of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner. Express Sport now takes a look at the squad Chelsea may have at their disposal next season.
Goalkeepers
Chelsea will likely stand by Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The Spain international has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge having struggled for consistency throughout the course of the campaign.
But Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich wants the £72million shot-stopper to stay - meaning any goalkeeping arrivals are unlikely.
Willy Caballero should continue to act as deputy to Kepa.
And 20-year-old Jamie Cumming is also likely to stay put, with the Blues having high hopes for the youngster.

Defence
Chelsea should cut Emerson Palmieri loose and, if they get their way, then Ben Chilwell will arrive as the Italian’s replacement.
But that should be the only big movement when it comes to the defence.
Marcos Alonso, Reece James and Cesar Azplilicueta should all provide competition when it comes to the full-back slots at Chelsea.
And Lampard is set to have Andreas Christensen, Kurt Zouma and Fikayo Tomori competing for a place at centre-back next season.

Midfield
Chelsea’s top midfield transfer target is Kai Havertz, a player Lampard is hellbent on bringing to Stamford Bridge this summer.
If he signs he’s likely to play alongside Ziyech, whose move from Ajax was agreed back in the January transfer window.
Jorginho is seemingly primed to stay put for the time being, with Juventus turning their attentions to Arthur of Barcelona instead.
He’ll be fighting it out for a starting berth with N’Golo Kante, Ross Barkley, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Matteo Kovacic and Billy Gilmour.
Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount are also options for Lampard.
