Chelsea sent £150m Jadon Sancho transfer warning by Frank Sinclair because of one player
Chelsea are interested in signing Manchester United target Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund but former Blues defender Frank Sinclair is unsure whether the England international is needed at Stamford Bridge
Jadon Sancho should join Chelsea claims pundit
Chelsea have been warned about spending up to £150million on Jadon Sancho by former defender Frank Sinclair. The Borussia Dortmund superstar has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in the next transfer window. Manchester United are also looking to secure his services to set up what is likely to be the saga of the summer.
Sancho is one of the hottest prospects on the planet after delivering 30 goals and 38 assists in 78 appearances for Dortmund over the last two seasons.
A return to the Premier League appears to be on the cards for the former Manchester City winger, who was born in London and was a boyhood Chelsea supporter.
Sinclair, however, is unsure whether the Blues should spend big on Sancho because they already have Callum Hudson-Odoi.
When asked whether the England international would be guaranteed a place in Frank Lampard’s team, the ex-Blues ace said: “Is Jadon Sancho any better than Callum Hudson-Odoi on that left-hand side?
“When you look at the potential of both players, would you spend close to £150million, which I’d expect would cost, to bring Jadon Sancho to this country or would you just stick to Callum Hudson-Odoi?
KEY STORY: What Chelsea have told Jadon Sancho about £100m transfer price tag
“Personally, I don’t think Jadon Sancho automatically gets into Chelsea’s team.”
Chelsea have reportedly opened a channel to the 20-year-old to make it clear they will not get close to matching Dortmund’s valuation of around £100million.
But the Bundesliga club’s CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has warned Sancho’s suitors they will not budge on their asking price.
Another potential problem further down the line would be if Premier League rivals Manchester United manage to land Sancho.
Sinclair, however, does not believe his former club will be “panicking”.

Speaking exclusively to GentingBet, he said: “Jadon Sancho is a fantastic player and a great talent but he plays in similar positions to the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Willian, so there will be tough competition for places if he does join in the summer.
“Whether he is a Chelsea target, I don’t know, as Chelsea have more than enough players in those positions that can play in those wide areas or in the Number 10 role – they have plenty of options.
“So, I don’t think that it is a position that Chelsea are panicking over but if a player of Jadon’s ability becomes available then you have to look at it.
“There are rumours that he is Chelsea fan as well, which will help. But for me, it’s not a position that Chelsea are desperate for.”
