Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp urged to strengthen one area in transfer market
Liverpool are preparing for a big summer after enduring two quiet transfer windows.
Timo Werner: Pundit discusses transfer options
Former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey has urged the club to focus on improving their strength in depth in the transfer market. There has been plenty of talk in recent weeks surrounding potential targets, but there is uncertainty surrounding where Liverpool actually need to recruit.
One thing that has been made clear is the Reds are in the market for a forward.
There is a feeling that the back-up options behind Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane need to be upgraded.
Divock Origi for all his good work last season has been off the boil while Takumi Minamino is taking a while to adapt to his new club.
Timo Werner remains firmly on the agenda and is the club's leading target.

He has a release clause of £50million which will expire at the end of April.
That means Liverpool will need to move quickly to get the deal wrapped up, despite the uncertainty surrounding football following the spread of the coronavirus.
According to Heskey, Liverpool need to continue bringing in quality additions who will put pressure on the starting team to perform.
The former England international believes it's the only way for the club to keep moving forward.

"Liverpool need to strengthen their back-up options and their strength in depth – people putting pressure on the starting XI," he told GentingBet.
"When you look at the starting XI, it is quite strong but when you look at the back-up options, which players are putting pressure on the players to perform, there isn’t really much there.
"It would be great if they were able to add quality to the full squad so that everyone knows it is a serious squad.
"You want to get to the stage where one player is coming off but another player is coming on, stepping into his position so that it all works like clockwork."
Werner would do just that and is almost certain to put pressure on the likes of Firmino, Salah and Mane to perform.
Heskey believes he has all the credentials to play in Klopp's side next season.
"Timo Werner is another young player who has done phenomenally well," Heskey added.
"When you’re bringing in young players, you want ones that are tried and tested, who knows what it takes to perform at the top level. Those players are always going to be an asset.
"Werner looks phenomenal – his pace looks great. Klopp obviously knows a lot about the German League as well, so I’m sure he’ll be keen to get his teeth stuck into him."
