Paul Pogba reacts
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba enjoyed his side’s win against Manchester City in the Premier League yesterday. Goals from Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay gave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer his third win of the season over Pep Guardiola.
And Pogba broke his silence on social media to show his delight posting on his Instagram story: ‘Manchester is red’.
The World Cup winner is still out recovering from an ankle injury but could return soon to help United’s push for the top four.
Solskjaer’s side are still three points behind Chelsea after they hammered Everton 4-0 yesterday.
The Red Devils did move two points clear of Wolves though, who sit behind them in sixth in the fight for Champions League qualification.
Harry Maguire on Bruno Fernandes
Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has made an instant impact since joining in the January transfer window and team-mate Harry Maguire thinks the player’s “personality” and “aura” have been important in the club’s recent undefeated streak.
"Winning games brings belief," said Maguire.
"We believe we can push on from this. With the ball we can do better.
"You can see what Bruno has brought since he has come in.
“He has a big personality and he has an aura about him."
Bruno Fernandes hilarious message
Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes teased Anthony Martial after scoring in the 2-0 win against Manchester City at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The France international opened the scoring thanks to a blunder from Ederson after being picked out with a clever pass from his Portuguese pal.
Fernandes and Martial appear to be good friends off the pitch, enjoying plenty of banter on social media in recent weeks.
Fernandes took to Twitter after the final whistle to hilariously write: “Manchester is red. Finally you scored with my assist @AnthonyMartial.”
The £46.6million man from Sporting Lisbon delivered another fine performance for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and looks like being one of the club’s finest signings in a long time.
He has two goals and three assists in the Premier League since his January arrival.
Emre Can on snubbing Man Utd
Emre Can has revealed he rejected a move to Manchester United because of his history with Liverpool.
“I had three Premier League deals alone, including one from Manchester United,” he told Kicker.
“But I didn't think about that for a second because of my Liverpool past.”
Can instead move to Borussia Dortmund on loan where the deal is expected to be made permanent at the end of the season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on new additions needed
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Manchester United are at least three players away from winning the Premier League title.
The Red Devils stunned Manchester City in the derby on Sunday, winning 2-0. Goals from Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay secured the crucial three points for United.
When asked what’s needed to challenge, Solskjaer said: “We feel we’re improving all the time and we know we lack one, two or three players and some experience, to be considered a title contender.
“We know that and we’re not going to start talking about that now.
“We’re going start talking about getting up up the table, getting more points and challenging for that top four because Chelsea and Leicester are too far ahead of us for my liking.”
