Will Championship fixtures be postponed? Games in danger due to Storm Dennis
Championship fixtures could be affected by the incoming Storm Dennis this weekend.
Storm Dennis: ‘Flooding likely’ as storm set to hit UK
Storm Dennis is due to hit the UK this weekend, with more disruptions expected following on from last week's Storm Ciara. As it stands, Championship fixtures are scheduled to go ahead.
But the Met Office has issued weather warnings ahead of Storm Dennis' arrival, meaning games could be called off.
Last week's Storm Ciara caused the postponement of the Premier League match between Manchester City and West Ham.
Amber warnings for rain and yellow warnings for wind are in place across the country for most of the weekend.
The storm "is likely to bring very heavy rain, flooding and disruption" in some areas, the Met Office has said.

The forecaster's chief meteorologist, Steve Willington, added: “Following Storm Ciara last weekend and further spells of rain this week, the ground is already saturated in places.
"With Storm Dennis bringing further heavy and persistent rain over the weekend, there is a risk of significant impacts from flooding, including damage to property and a danger to life from fast-flowing floodwater.
“Our advice is to keep an eye on the latest weather forecast and weather warnings for your area and to follow the safety advice from officials.”
Football fans have been active on social media this week ahead of Storm Dennis' arrival.
One wrote on Twitter: "I reckon Storm Dennis will wreck my football plans."
Another commented: "I’ve got a feeling this Storm Dennis is going to play havoc with the football fixtures this weekend, I hope I’m wrong."
A third added: "This storm Dennis best not f**k the football up this weekend.
"Twitter will go right off if it's postponed. It's been like a mini transfer window."
A fourth wrote: "Please be kind storm Dennis. We need Saturday football!!"
