Man Utd fans submit fresh demand after Odion Ighalo shirt number announced
Manchester United have announced the shirt number Odion Ighalo will wear during his time at Old Trafford.
Man Utd: Ighalo ‘grateful’ as he arrives at Manchester Airport
Manchester United signed Odion Ighalo on loan from Shanghai Shenhua on transfer deadline day. And, on Tuesday morning, they’ve announced the Nigeria international will wear the No 25 shirt for the rest of the campaign.
United announced on their official website that Ighalo would be donning the No 25 shirt for the rest of the campaign.
They said: “Odion Ighalo has been handed the no.25 squad number at Manchester United, after the lifelong Reds supporter joined the club on a six-month loan deal from Shanghai Greenland Shenhua.
“That shirt has been vacant since Antonio Valencia left Old Trafford in the summer, bringing an end to his 10-season career as a United player.
“A temporary move for the 30-year-old striker was completed on Friday and the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations top scorer is set to bolster Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad for the remainder of this season, providing a different option in attack.”
And United fans have now bombarded the club’s Twitter account with messages calling to see pictures of Ighalo in the red shirt.

“GIVE US SOMW (sic) PICTURES,” one supporter said.
“WE WANT IGHALO PICS ADMINNNN,” said a second.
“Announce Ighalo pics,” were the words of a third fan.
“Admin should give us video and pictures of him,” demanded another supporter.
Some United fans slammed the club for advertising Ighalo’s jersey - particularly given he’s only a loan signing.
“Don't buy it. Just buy a fake copy,” one said.

“I’m not buying anything until you start winning games consistently,” were the brutal words of another.
A third said: “All you think is buying this buying that. Aint put anymore money to the glazers. Give our football back u…”
And a fourth claimed: “They said “Buy now” uno he isn’t even staying here permanently and the club still want to get money off him which shows exactly what’s been the club’s problem for a quite a while now.”
Meanwhile, former England star Eni Aluko believes the signing of Ighalo shows United to be desperate.
"It looks pretty desperate, in terms of goals," she said of United's striker problem.
"Without being disrespectful, I think the signing of Ighalo is that level of desperation in terms of just needing someone who can put the ball in the back of the net.
"Obviously they went for Josh King at Bournemouth, that didn't happen.
"But even going for Josh King, he's only scored three goals this season in a poor season for Bournemouth.
"There's a level of desperation with Man Utd in terms of their scoring and with Rashford out.
"It seems that they're just taking smash and grab players. They've got Ighalo in, whether that'll do anything I don't know, but it looks pretty desperate."
