Spanish Super Cup prize money: How much can Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid win?
The Spanish Super Cup final takes place today but how much prize money is involved as Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid battle it out for glory?
Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid meet in the final of the newly-formatted Spanish Super Cup. The showpiece previously saw the La Liga champions face the Copa del Rey winners but this season’s event also featured the runners-up of each competition.
The date and location have also changed, with past finals being played before the start of the season.
The Super Cup now takes place in Saudi Arabia in mid-season, after the Spanish FA (RFEF) struck a three-year deal reportedly worth £102million (€120m).
RFEF president Luis Rubiales, said: “The money we will get is not for building a villa.
“It will go to women's football and the clubs in Segunda B and Tercera.

“Of course, money is important, who can deny that? Money is very important but the money will go where it is needed.”
Not everyone is a fan of the changes, with Barcelona head coach Ernesto Valverde preferring the old format.
"The bottom line is football has become a business and as a business it looks for income," Valverde said before Barcelona’s semi-final defeat to Atletico.
"That's the reason we are all here [in Saudi Arabia].
"It's a completely different format to what we're used to. It was always the first title and the opener of the season and to me that seemed fine.
"It's been changed and let's see, it will be judged once it has happened. It's interesting, with four good teams, but from a sporting point of view, I'm not sure."
