Chelsea: David Alaba transfer ‘doesn’t make sense’ says Nicol
Chelsea are secretly chasing the centre-back of a Premier League rival who would cost around £50million, according to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol. The defender is ‘young and promising’ and the Blues are hopeful that they can get a deal done in the coming weeks.

Chelsea are also interested in Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha, who recently signed with Israeli super-agent Pini Zahavi.
Jason Sancho is also a target of Chelsea’s though Solhekol believes that deal isn’t one that can get done until the summer.
“I think Sancho would cost over £100m and that’s a deal that would more likely happen in the summer if he was to leave Germany,” he said.
“There’s also Moussa Dembele, he would like to come back to England, but Lyon don’t want to sell him until the summer.”

Frank Lampard has reiterated multiple times that he’s happy with his current young squad at Chelsea.
But as well as the potential £50m signing which Solhekol alludes to, the club have been linked to Leeds loanee Ben White, who impressed in his side’s FA Cup outing with Arsenal on Monday night.
