Marcus Rashford disagrees with Robin van Persie over Manchester United decision
Marcus Rashford has scored seven goals in his last nine Premier League games for Manchester United.
Man Utd: Rashford discusses coming up through academy
Marcus Rashford has no interest in battling to become Manchester United’s leading front man. When Rashford burst onto the scene in 2016, there was plenty of buzz about him potentially becoming a future striker for England.
But under Jose Mourinho, Rashford was pushed out more into a wide position with Romelu Lukaku taking the central role.
After Lukaku left in the summer though and United failed to bring in a replacement, it seemed Rashford would once again be moved back into the central position.
The 22-year-old has played through the middle at times with Anthony Martial out injured, but if both players are fit then Rashford takes his position on the left flank.
Robin van Persie though believes Rashford’s best position would still be leading United’s attack.

While discussing Rashford’s goal against Liverpool earlier this season, Van Persie praised the young forward for his movement.
“Only the top players realise that, in that split second,” he said.
“Actions like that shows me that you will end up in the main striker position.”
But Rashford insists that he has grown to love his role away from the central position.

“The position that I’m playing now, this is my favourite position I think,’ he responded.
“Because it’s not really left wing and it’s not number nine.
“But when you’re a number nine you have to be prepared to not see the ball.”
Van Persie added: “Number nine is the most difficult position. You have to be good at everything.”
