Premier League top scorers: Vardy extends lead over Rashford, Abraham, Aubameyang
Premier League action continues this weekend and Express Sport has rounded up the top scorers so far.
Solskjaer says he is 'very pleased' with Rashford's goal
Leicester striker Jamie Vardy has been in incredible form this season. The 32-year-old has scored 17 times 18 matches to help the Foxes to second in Premier League table.
Vardy has not missed a league game this season but his manager Brendan Rodgers says the star will have to be rested during the festive schedule.
"The players aren't robots, it's not a computer game," said Rodgers.
He added: "You cannot risk the fitness of a player.
"You play on the 26th, a high-intensity game against Liverpool, fighting for the result. In football, it's the second day where the players suffer.
"You get that first day of recovery but it's the second day where it's really tough for a player.
"If we go along that route then the second day, instead of recovering, we're kicking off at 5.30pm at West Ham. It's just nonsense really."
Marcus Rashford is another player in fine form at the moment.
The Manchester United forward has 10 league goals this season and boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes there is plenty more to come from the star.
“I don’t want to talk about the amount of goals,” Solskjaer said.
“As long as he keeps being positive and being direct and thinking about getting in front of the goal and getting chances, he’ll score goals.”
Solskjaer also thinks Rashford has the potential to be as good as United hero Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Norwegian added: “It’s very easy to compare the two of them, yes.
“Both with skills, body shape, attitude, attributes – everything.
“The boy has every chance in the world to become a top, top player. Let’s hope he continues like this.”
