How Man Utd could look after James Rodriguez, Saul Niguez and Erling Haaland transfers
Manchester United reportedly want transfers for Real Madrid's James Rodriguez, Atletico Madrid's Saul Niguez and Red Bull Salzburg's Erling Haaland.
Man Utd: Haaland 'built for Premier League' says father
Manchester United have been linked with Real Madrid's James Rodriguez, Atletico Madrid's Saul Niguez and Red Bull Salzburg's Erling Haaland ahead of the January transfer window. Having failed to sign all their top targets in the summer, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eyeing a winter spending spree.
Manchester United intend to add to their squad in January, with Solskjaer aware that, despite recent victories over Tottenham and Manchester City, his side need more.
Spanish publication El Desmarque claim that Real Madrid outcast Rodriguez is keen on a move to Old Trafford, while the Daily Mail say that Saul and Haaland are also being tracked.
United, for their part, want at least two midfielders. And a striker would also be key for Solskjaer, despite the recent fine form of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
So Express Sport takes a look at how the trio could fit in.

Saul Niguez
Manchester United and Everton both passed on the chance to sign a young Saul back in 2014 due to his small size and stature.
But both sides have watched from afar as the Spain international has gone on to establish himself as one of Europe's best midfielders.
Saul could play slightly forward for United, in front of Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay.
Or he could alternatively line up alongside the duo in flat three-man midfield.
He'd certainly represent an upgrade on Fred who, despite some recent good showings, is yet to live up to his £52million transfer fee.

James Rodriguez
Rodriguez' days as a playmaker appear to be over.
And that means the Real Madrid star could end up having to revert to his old spot on the right wing in order to save his faltering career.
Fortunately, at United, there's an opening on that flank.
Daniel James has excelled but Solskjaer never originally intended to play the Wales international so much. There's already some concern at Old Trafford that he's suffering from exhaustion.
And Rodriguez could take his place for the games where Solskjaer plans to give James a breather.
Erling Haaland
Solskjaer really likes Martial.
But he's been infuriated by the levels of inconsistency from the France international over the course of this season - hence his interest in Haaland.
The Red Bull Salzburg star would likely take Martial's place at the tip of United's attack if he were to join.
And that would likely see Marcus Rashford keep his slot on the left wing, where he's been in blistering form throughout the campaign.
