Premier League top scorers: Vardy extends lead over Abraham, Rashford, Aubameyang
Premier League action this weekend saw a number of the top scorers add to their respective tallies.
Premier League: Jamie Vardy named top scorer of week fourteen
Jamie Vardy scored twice as Leicester ran riot at Aston Villa on Sunday. The striker notched his 15th and 16th goals of the season to help the Foxes to a 4-1 win. But amid his impressive form in front of goal, former boss Claude Puel claimed this week that Vardy can be “like a child”.
"I did not have a problem with Jamie," Puel said. "Jamie is a good man but sometimes he is like a child - he needs support, he needs attention.
"It was difficult for me because I was not English, it was difficult to share and explain all my feelings with him.
"When I arrived at Leicester, he scored a lot of goals. He came back from the World Cup injured, he returned without training sessions.
"It was difficult for me to use him all the time."
Harry Kane also added another two goals to his Premier League tally in Tottenham’s 5-0 win over Burnley.
"That was a really good win, coming off a disappointing performance in midweek,” Kane said afterwards.
"We wanted to start the game fast, get at them and the game went as well as it could.
"The whole performance was great from the team and that gave me the freedom to put a couple away."
Elsewhere, Marcus Rashford continued his fine run of form in front of goal with a penalty in the 2-1 victory over neighbours Manchester City.
Rashford said: "It's class. Nothing gets better than that feeling and on a day like this, you can't top that.
"Very positive, happy for the fans, for the team but the challenge is now to keep that consistency."
Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham failed to find the target in the defeat to Everton, while Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is in action against West Ham on Monday.
