FA Cup: Road to Manchester City’s 2018-19 win
Rivals Liverpool and Everton will meet in the FA Cup third round.
Jurgen Klopp's Premier League leaders will have home advantage in the cup Merseyside derby, which will take place from January 3-6.
Holders Manchester City landed a home tie against Port Vale, while Manchester United will visit Wolves, the club that knocked them out of last season's competition at the quarter-final stage.
Arsenal, FA Cup winners on a record 13 occasions, face a potentially-testing encounter at home to Leeds.
And there were also tricky ties for West Ham, who visit Gillingham, and Norwich at Preston, which means a meeting with their former manager Alex Neil.
Jose Mourinho's Tottenham go to Middlesbrough, and Aston Villa head to Craven Cottage, where Fulham await.
The Merseyside derby…
19:30: Well how about that. Everything after Liverpool vs Everton was just a blur if I’m honest with you. With the Toffees enduring such a terrible season - a second Merseyside derby away at Anfield was the last thing they’ll have wanted.
Their next fixtures are: Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Leicester, Arsenal, Burnley, Newcastle, Manchester City and Liverpool. Good luck with that…
Elsewhere Leeds travel to Arsenal in what could be a good Premier League audition. West Ham travel to League One Gillingham and Jose Mourinho’s Spurs pit their wits against Middlesbrough at the Riverside.

Here we go!
19:10: Thanks for keeping faith with me folks - the 2019 FA Cup third-round draw is about to take place. Tony Adams and Micah Richards are in position. The Arsenal legend wearing a fairly vile velvet suit - not sure why I told you that. Standby…
Quick chat
19:05: Montage, chat, highlights, chat and a final montage. Vintage draw etiquette from the BBC unfolding here folks.
Reminds me of that Alan Partridge scene: “I'd like four glitter explosions, 12 puff flashes... So the sequence should be puff, flash, puff, flash, bang.
“Basically, could I have a condensed Pink Floyd concert for £500?”
Coverage begins…
19:00: The comforting face of Mark Chapman arrives on our screens. He’s at the Etihad Stadium inside the Manchester City Legends Lounge and one crafty fan has clipped him over the head with a glow stick.
He asks Micah Richards why the hostile reception and the former City defender responds: “Well, we all know you’re a red mate!” Meow...
Soon…
18:58: I do hope the coverage will start soon. We’re being subjected to the last five minutes of the Strictly Come Dancing highlights show with Rylan Clark-Neal, which is about as painful as it sounds.
For those who DO care, Rylan literally can’t wait for this weekend’s show. So that’s nice.
Five-minute warning
18:55: Just the five minutes until coverage of the draw takes place. You probably know the drill by now - three-minute montage of famous FA Cup moments, small talk with the pundits and a rowdy chat with the lowest-ranked side still in the competition. Standard fare.
Just seen a few pictures from the Ballon d’Or ceremony - they don’t know what they’re missing - I’ve just seen Micah Richards arriving!
LOVE IT!
18:50: I’m a sucker for this kind of thing. The FA have posted one of those GIF generator things on their official Twitter page that enables you to simulate your own draw.
I gave it a bash and drew Leeds vs Leicester at Elland Road. I did try to get Everton vs Liverpool or Manchester United vs Manchester City - but after three minutes I failed and realised that you probably don’t care…
The link is HERE if you’re a loser like me and want to have a go.
A minute delay
18:40: This season's FA Cup third-round fixtures will be delayed by one minute to help promote mental health.
The FA, in partnership with the Heads Up campaign and the National Health Service's Every Mind Matters, wants to encourage fans to think about their mental wellbeing.
All 32 third-round ties, which will take place over the weekend of January 3-6, will kick-off one minute later than usual.
FA chief executive Mark Bullingham said: "Whilst delaying kick-off times by 60 seconds is a simple idea, it provides a powerful platform for us and our Heads Up charity partners to deliver a really important message on mental health.
"We know that men in particular can be reluctant to talk about the subject, so it is important that we use football as a vehicle to stress the importance of mental fitness."
Ball numbers…
18:30: I have absolutely no idea why the ball numbers are still in existence. Surely in this situation we could just print the name of the sides?
I just said that to a colleague, who thought that the financial outlay would stop the FA from doing it. If anyone has the answer to this BIG QUESTION then please do let me know!
Also, all the ball numbers are at the bottom of this page should you wish to know the team news a split second before it’s announced…
The draw…
18:25: I suppose the FA Cup draw is the intelligent and sensible older brother of the Carabao Cup draw. Y’know, the younger brother who’s asked to behave when visitors come over…
Their cup draws have become synonymous with comedic errors, bizarre plans and technical difficulties.
The one staged in Beijing, the Chinese capital, at 4.15am UK time springs to mind. Charlton being paired with both Exeter and Cheltenham is also a personal favourite.
No such dramas with the streamlined FA Cup though folks - I expect professionalism.
Welcome…
18:15: Hello folks and welcome to our LIVE coverage of the FA Cup third-round draw.
There’s been a clash in the sporting calendar because the tin-pot 2019 Ballon d'Or awards are taking place in Paris tonight.
And that means Lionel Messi and Virgil van Dijk won’t be available to conduct the FA Cup draw alongside Mark Chapman.
Shame. Instead we’ll have to make do with Tony Adams and Micah Richards picking out the balls - I’m sure they are capable of doing the job…
