Liverpool team news: Predicted 4-3-3 line up vs Aston Villa – 11 changes, key defender out
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will ring the changes when the Reds return to Premier League action against Aston Villa on Saturday (3pm).
Liverpool are likely to completely overhaul their starting XI when the Premier League leaders visit Aston Villa this weekend.
Jurgen Klopp rotated his entire team for the Carabao Cup clash with Arsenal in midweek and his decision was justified when a youthful outfit triumphed on penalties after a 5-5 draw at Anfield.
But the regular starting XI should return at Villa Park, albeit without first-choice centre-back Joel Matip.
The Cameroon defender is struggling with a knee problem and is not expected to feature again until December.
Dejan Lovren deputised against Tottenham last weekend and will line up alongside Virgil van Dijk once more after Joe Gomez played the full 90 minutes against Arsenal.
Andrew Robertson will return at left-back while Fabinho is a certain pick in central midfield.
The Brazilian will be joined by Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Adam Lallana and Naby Keita all dropping out.
Keita is a doubt to feature this weekend anyway, having limped off against Asenal, but the club will make an assessment closer to kick-off.
Divock Origi scored twice in the comeback against Arsenal but that will not be enough to earn a starting berth with Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah all returning.
Rhian Brewster and Harvey Elliott will also make way while Xherdan Shaqiri remains sidelined due to a calf problem and will not feature until after the next international break in November.
Liverpool are currently six points clear at the top of the table, having won all but one of their 10 matches so far this season.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa are 15th and could be without captain Jack Grealish due to a calf injury.
