Premier League top scorers: Vardy leapfrogs Aguero, Abraham and Aubameyang
Premier League top scorers - who leads the way in the race for the Golden Boot?
Jamie Vardy bagged a hat-trick on Friday night as Leicester ran riot at Southampton.
The 32-year-old struck just before half-time and added his second midway through the second half.
Vardy then completed his treble by converting from the penalty spot in stoppage time.
It moved the Leceister striker to the top of the Premier League scoring charts with nine goals this season.
In fact, Vardy has outscored every other player in the Premier League since Brendan Rodgers took over as manager.
"Jamie has been on this great journey and won the title but he never felt like that was his lot," Rodgers told Sky Sports.
"He could have sat on it. But he is very hungry and very determined to keep improving and be the best that he can be. He wants to develop his game. That's refreshing."
Manchester City star Sergio Aguero couldn't add to his eight goals against Aston Villa on Saturday but team-mate Raheem Sterling took his tally to seven for the season.
Chelsea's Tammy Abraham remains level with Aguero just behind Vardy, after failing to score at Burnley.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has seven league goals this term but wasn't able to convert against Crystal Palace.
