Tottenham told Harry Kane would only leave for Man City instead of Man Utd
Tottenham star Harry Kane has been linked with Manchester United - but Manchester City have been backed to sign him instead.
Man Utd: Harry Kane will not move to club says expert
Tottenham star Harry Kane would only leave the club for Manchester City instead of Manchester United, according to former Spurs ace Jamie O’Hara.
The England international has been regularly linked with a move to Old Trafford ever since breaking into the scene with Spurs.
Rumours of a move to Manchester United have reignited in recent times, with Roy Keane urging Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to sign the striker after Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool.
Yet O’Hara can only see Kane at City, rather than at United.
O’Hara told talkSPORT: “If you are going to go for £200million, are you going to go to Man United?
“No disrespect to them, even though they’ve had their great history, Tottenham are probably a better suited squad to where they are going.
“So if he is are going to leave Tottenham, surely he is going to go where he can win trophies.
“And, for me, that is not going to be at Man United.”
O’Hara can’t see Kane moving to Real Madrid or Barcelona because he feels the Tottenham star wants to usurp Newcastle legend Alan Shearer to become the Premier League’s deadliest forward of all time.
“I don’t think he’ll go to Spain,” he continued. “I think he wants the [Alan] Shearer record, the Premier League all-time scoring record.
“I think he’s going for it and I think he’s got a good chance.
“I think if he is going to go it’s going to be Man City; it’s only Man City, for me, who can probably get him.
“Aguero is coming to the end and Jesus is a different type of player, so if they are to get somebody it would be Harry Kane.
“But does he leave Tottenham? And can they let him go? I don’t think they can.”
Man Utd: Ferguson would have signed Kane says expert
Solskjaer, meanwhile, responded to Keane’s comments about bringing Kane to United.
“Roy is quite straightforward isn’t he,” the Red Devils manager said.
“There’s the Kanes and the Lewandowskis and ours are different types of players.
“But I like someone who can finish half a chance and he’s one of the best but he’s a Tottenham player.”
