Leon Osman believes Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are passing to each other too much.
Manchester United vs Liverpool: Pundits preview clash
Liverpool stars Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are now overpassing to each other, claims former Everton midfielder Leon Osman.
Mane publicly showed his anger towards team-mate Salah after being substituted in the win at Burnley in August.
Mane thought Salah should have passed to him instead of shooting on several occasions in the 3-0 win.
Osman says there has been a change from the duo since then but reckons it has been to the detriment of Liverpool.
I’ve got a lot of friends that are Liverpool season ticket holders and they’re saying they’re passing so much to each other rather than being clinical
And, ahead of this Sunday’s trip to rivals Manchester United, the pundit believes they have been less clinical in front of goal because they are looking to pass to each other more.
“I do [think they’re passing to each other more],” Osman said on The Analysis Show.
“This has affected them in a way that nobody expected.
“You thought maybe they’d argue, maybe they’d get more selfish and try and beat the other one to the top of the scoring charts.
“At the minute, what it’s done it’s made them overpass to each other.
"They’ve started to try and assist each other rather than being clinical themselves at times.
“Previous seasons, or the previous two seasons I would say, Liverpool could have won [some of the games this season] by two, three goals, whereas they’re just about winning them at the moment by a goal, by a single goal, because they’re trying to set each other up and it’s not quite been as successful.
“I’ve got a lot of friends that are Liverpool season ticket holders and they’re saying they’re passing so much to each other rather than being clinical themselves.
“It’s good to see the team are free-flowing and trying to create things for each other, but at times you just want them to put the ball in the back of the goal and argue about it later.”
