Man Utd urged to stick with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as pressure grows after Newcastle defeat
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under pressure at Manchester United following their loss to Newcastle at the weekend.
Manchester United have been urged to keep hold of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer by the Norwegian’s former Red Devils team-mate Mark Bosnich.
United’s season so far has been a sour one as they’ve only won twice in the Premier League in eight games.
They’ve lost on three occasions in the league, most recently to Newcastle, who won 1-0 thanks to Matty Longstaff’s long-range effort at St James’ Park.
United have also struggled in the Europa League, drawing away at AZ Alkmaar, while they also had trouble getting past Rochdale in the Carabao Cup.
But despite all of that, Bosnich believes Solskjaer should be given more time at Old Trafford.
"I would stick. I am biased, I must admit that, because I am an ex-team-mate of his," Bosnich told Sky Sports.
"He was not only a world-class player but a world-class person and I would stick with him.
“Every time things are going wrong you can't just change… are you going to have 10 managers in three years' time?
"If you look at the availability around the world it is not as if Jurgen Klopp or Pep Guardiola are free and available.
“Stick with [Solskjaer]. However, there is a cut-off point.
“I said this before with Jose [Mourinho] - there is a cut-off with everyone.
“In another 20 games, that would be 28 games into the season, if he is third from bottom they are maybe left with no choice."
United’s run doesn’t get any easier after the international break as they face leaders Liverpool, who are yet to lose in the league this season.
The title favourites sit eight points clear at the top of the table, having won all of their Premier League games this term.
