Celtic fans blast Ryan Christie after red card against Livingston - 'Stupid challenge'
Celtic fans made their thoughts on Ryan Christie’s sending off clear.
Celtic went down to 10 men against Livingston on Sunday as Ryan Christie saw red for a challenge on Scott Robinson.
Neil Lennon’s side went into the game a point clear of Rangers at the top of the Premiership table, but there hopes of another victory were dented in the first-half.
Christie showed his studs as he went in for a tackle on Robinson, and was subsequently sent for an early bath by William Collum.
On fan said: “Silly silly Christie.”
“Stone wall red card from Ryan Christie,” another added.
A third said: “Brutal tackle from Christie. not intentional but 100% red card.”
“Stupid challenge by Christie,” a fourth added.
A fifth added: “What is Christie doing?”
Brian McLauchlin believes it was the right decision to send off Christie for the rash challenge.
He said: “Willie Collum has got that absolutely spot on. A straight red is all that he could give there.
“You simply can't defend Ryan Christie for that challenge.”
And former Scotland winger Neil McCann agreed with his assessment.
He explained: “That's a game-changer. I think Neil Lennon will try and adapt the shape here, which changes Celtic's tactics.”
