James Maddison told to snub Man Utd transfer as Liverpool and Man City comparison made
The Leicester City ace is on Manchester United’s wish list.
Former Leicester City manager Mickey Adams has urged James Maddison to snub a potential move to Manchester United.
The Red Devils are reportedly keen on signing the England under-21 international, who was one of the Foxes’ star players last season.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is rumoured to be a big admirer of the winger and is said to contemplating testing Leicester’s eagerness to keep him in the January transfer window.
Maddison’s displays for the Foxes have thoroughly impressed Adams, who believes a move to Old Trafford would be a sideways step for the youngster.
“Leicester have shown in terms of wages and ambition that they’re as good as anyone,” Adams told the Daily Star.
“Maddison would have to go to Manchester City or a Liverpool to improve on what he’s got at Leicester.
“As a young man he’s just got to keep developing his game and working hard.
“He must not listen to the hype or get ahead of himself. That’s the time it bites you on the backside as a footballer.”

Despite rumours of a looming United bid for Maddison, Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers isn’t afraid of losing the 22-year-old’s services.
“I don’t worry,” said the Northern Irishman when asked about Manchester United’s reported interest in Maddison.
“It’s natural in the game, it’s going to happen.
“If you’re at one of the so-called top clubs, you’ll always look elsewhere for the best players, and when you’re a club like Leicester you’ll always be in danger of losing your top players. That’s football.
“All we can do is create an environment here for them to develop and improve and then if something happens in the future that’s out of your control, then that’s the way it works.
“I tend not to worry so much, I just focus on making them the best they can be and if they then move on, that’s how it works.
“But when they’re here, they give their best, give everything to the supporters and the club, and we’ll see where it takes us.”
Maddison and his Leicester team-mates will be back in action on Sunday afternoon, welcoming Newcastle to the King Power Stadium.
