Celtic announce Greg Taylor but fans all want one other transfer announcement
Celtic fans are demanding the signing of Victor Wanyama after the club confirmed Greg Taylor’s transfer to Glasgow.
Greg Taylor says he's 'delighted' to join Celtic
The former Kilmarnock left-back will be a like-for-like replacement for Kieran Tierney, who joined Arsenal for £25million earlier this summer.
But Tottenham midfielder Wanyama, who played for Celtic previously in his career, has also been linked with a move back to Scotland.
The Kenyan hasn’t been part of manager Mauricio Pochettino’s first team plans for some time and is thought to be keen on moving away.
And Celtic fans, who are hoping to see their side win another Scottish Premiership this season, are desperate to see their former midfielder Wanyama return.
Supporters were quick to make jokes on Twitter once the signing of Taylor had been confirmed.
One said: “That’s not Wanyama?”
Another went with: “Class now Announce Wanyama as well.”
A third wrote: “Wanyama looks different.”
Another supporter jokingly noticed: “Wanyama has changed a lot.”
Someone else tweeted: “Right! Class bit a work. Now announce Wanyama!”
One simply said: “Now Wanyama.”
Another fan wrote: “Sorry Greg your some man but the Bhoys want Wanyama to come to the party.”

And finally, this Celtic fan wrote: “This is not Wanyama...#LennonOut #LawwellOut.
Taylor said of his transfer: "As soon as I knew of Celtic's interest, I was desperate to come, so it's been a great day, certainly now that it's done.
"It's massive club, everyone knows that, and I'm here to win trophies, it's as simple as that and I can't wait to hopefully be a part of it. I'm delighted to be a Celtic player, and I want to try and impress the fans, and obviously the manager."
