Rashford and co stony-faced after Palace defeat as injured duo arrive for Man Utd training
Marcus Rashford and his Manchester United team-mates were spotted arriving for training on Bank Holiday Monday as they look to bounce back from Saturday's defeat to Crystal Palace.
Manchester United returned to training this morning after suffering their first defeat of the Premier League season against Crystal Palace.
The Eagles triumphed 2-1 at Old Trafford on Sunday thanks to goals from Jordan Ayew and Patrick van Aanholt, with the Dutch defender hitting the winner in added time.
Daniel James was on target for the hosts but Marcus Rashford missed a penalty, just a week after Paul Pogba had his spot-kick saved against Wolves.
And the Red Devils striker did not look in a cheery mood as he returned to Carrington this morning alongside the majority of the United squad.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did manage to muster a small smile and waved to the cameras, but the Norwegian must also be fuming about the manner of the defeat with his side dominating the Eagles for large portions of the match.
United have four points from their opening three matches of the season, having emphatically thumped Chelsea 4-0 on the opening weekend before drawing at Wolves.
There is plenty of room for improvement on the pitch this season, while there could be some significant changes still to come off it this summer.
Romelu Lukaku has already joined Inter Milan for a £73million fee but Alexis Sanchez could also be heading to the San Siro before the European transfer window closes.
A loan move for the Chilean with an obligation to buy has been mooted, although United could end up paying as much as 75 per cent of Sanchez’s wages.
The 30-year-old was pictured arriving for training this morning as he looks to regain match fitness, having missed pre-season as a result of his international commitments at the Copa America.
Marcos Rojo and Matteo Darmian were also spotted, with both having been linked with moves away from the club before the end of the month.
Meanwhile, there was some good news for United as Luke Shaw was snapped pulling up in his Range Rover.
The left-back was forced off the field due to injury at the weekend but the problem is not thought to be serious.
Speaking about Shaw’s injury on Saturday, Solskjaer said: "We will do the scans tomorrow but he felt something in his hamstring.
“Hopefully he won't be too bad and will be back for Southampton."
Meanwhile, Eric Bailly was also seen getting a lift to the training complex as he continues his rehabilitation following a recurrence of a knee injury.
