Celtic target Jordon Ibe drops hint over chances of Hoops transfer before deadline
Jordon Ibe is dumfounded by reports linking him to Celtic as Neil Lennon targets a late spending spree.
Jordon Ibe shows off his skills in Bournemouth training
Celtic transfer target Jordon Ibe is in the dark over a possible move to Parkhead this summer.
The Bournemouth winger started just nine league games under Eddie Howe last season and has remained on the bench for the side’s first two Premier League fixtures.
Celtic have made four signings this summer but they have all been defensive acquisitions, with goalkeeper Fraser Forster the latest.
Neil Lennon wants to add three or four more players to the squad but is unsure of the club’s funds despite selling Kieran Tierney for £25million.
Ibe has been linked with the Scottish champions but was dumbfounded as to where the reports originated.
“That Celtic thing, I don’t know about that,” he said.
“Any speculation stuff I don’t get involved with.”
Bournemouth boss Howe added wide attackers Harry Wilson and Arnaut Danjuma to his squad this summer, providing more competition for Ibe in a stacked position.
Celtic: Lennon 'we're working to bring in three or four players'
Ibe has failed to hit the heights expected of him since joining Bournemouth for a then club-record £15million in 2016.
“I’ve been given chances but not taken them,” he admitted. “I’ve not achieved anything [at Bournemouth].
“Coming with that price tag at my age, that probably did get to my head a little bit.”
Ibe has played 88 times for The Cherries, scoring five and assisting nine goals.
