Man Utd transfer decision causes disagreement live on air as summer business slammed
MANCHESTER UNITED’s decision not to replace Romelu Lukaku has been slammed by fan and radio presenter Andy Goldstein.
Lukaku left Manchester United to join Inter Milan on the Premier League’s transfer deadline day.
United did not bring in a new striker, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisting there was enough cover in the squad with the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and 17-year-old Mason Greenwood.
However, Goldstein vented his frustration following Monday night’s 1-1 draw with Wolves at the lack of a top striker being available off the bench.
“Greenwood, very exciting prospect,” Goldstein said on talkSPORT.
Are these the type of games where if you’ve not got Lukaku starting he maybe should come off the bench with 15 to go?
“[Andreas] Pereira coming on as well, excellent player.
“But these are two players that are coming off the bench and there’s no Romelu Lukaku.
“Obviously we sold him a couple of weeks ago. He wasn’t replaced.

“It’s an argument we should be having.
“We didn’t need [Lukaku] last weekend, that’s my point, we didn’t need him last weekend.
“With 35 minutes to go we need a goal.”
However, former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy disagreed and said United had plenty of players who could have scored their winner.
“You didn’t need [Lukaku] today,” Cundy said.
“You were 1-0 up, you should have seen that game out. 1-0 should be enough to go on and win you the game.
“United first half were on easy street, they were stroking the ball around.
“You had players on the pitch that last week proved they can score goals.”
