Celtic boss Neil Lennon provides key Scott Sinclair update ahead of transfer deadline day
CELTIC manager Neil Lennon admits Scott Sinclair could leave the club before the window closes on transfer deadline day.
Lennon revealed Sinclair was left out of the Celtic squad that took on Romanian side Cluj in their Champions League qualifying clash due to of interest in the player from clubs in England.
The 30-year-old joined the Hoops back in 2016 for a reported fee of £3million, during which time Brendan Rodgers was in charge at Celtic.
The pair had previously worked together at Chelsea and Swansea City and the winger has previously stated that he had played his best football under the Northern Irishman during his spell at the Liberty Stadium.
The winger has been linked with Sheffield United during this window, however, Lennon was coy when speaking about what clubs were currently interested in the former Manchester City player.
After confirming Sinclair hadn’t joined his team-mates in Romania, Lennon said: “There’s a bit of interest, but there’s nothing concrete at the minute.
“That may change in the next 24 hours.”
Celtic went on to draw the match 1-1 and will now host Cluj in the second leg on Tuesday in Glasgow.
The transfer window closes at 5pm today so any interested parties will have to conduct their business quickly.

However, one player who is expected to leave the Parkhead club is left-back Kieran Tierney.
Arsenal have already had two bids rejected by the Scottish champions this summer, but according to BBC Sport, they have now agreed a fee of £25m with Celtic for the defender.
The 22-year-old is now expected to travel to London to discuss personal terms with the club.
However, Lennon admitted he was still in the dark about Tierney leaving, as after their Champions League qualifying game he said: “I don't know anything.

"If he goes, he goes with everyone's best wishes. He's an outstanding talent and a great kid."
Tierney, who came through the academy at the club , made his senior debut in 2015 and has gone on to make 170 appearances for the Hoops.
During his time with Celtic he has won four Scottish Premiership League titles, two Scottish Cups and two Scottish League Cups.
