The four deals Leeds United could still complete on transfer deadline day before 5pm
LEEDS UNITED boss Marcelo Bielsa has been busy this summer and although several players have left Elland Road the Argentine could still complete four deals on transfer deadline day before the window closes at 5pm.
Leeds United prepare for first home game of the season
Leeds United just missed out on automatic promotion to the Premier League last season when they finished third in the Championship and then lost to Derby in the semi-finals of the play-offs.
However, the new philosophy of fast-paced, high-pressing football brought into the club under Bielsa, has quickly won over supporters, who are now ready to see the Whites make another attempt of returning to the top flight of English football this season.
Bielsa has already seen promising centre-back Ben White along with wingers Helder Costa, Jack Harrison and Jack Clarke added to his squad for this upcoming campaign.
However, the 64-year-old former Argentina and Chile manager doesn’t appear to be finished and could still make further signings on deadline day.
It is understood Arsenal boss Unai Emery has now decided to let Eddie Nketiah leave, despite his impressive pre-season performances, where he scored three goals in three appearances in International Champions Cup.
Nketiah’s situation is being monitored by several clubs and Leeds could face competition from Bristol City for the youngster.
Leeds are interested in the 20-year-old after they sold striker Kemar Roofe to Anderlecht for a fee believed to be around €7million (£6.4m).
But Bielsa hopes to persuade the striker to pick Yorkshire over the South West, as he is willing to give the talented youngster a prominent role in his squad following Roofe’s departure to Belgium.
Leeds director of football Victor Orta is also believed to have used his close relationship with the Arsenal manager to make a personal pitch on Tuesday to take Nketiah on a season-long loan.

Illan Meslier - Lorient
FC Lorient goalkeeper Illan Meslier is close to finalising his move to Elland Road.
The 19-year-old is expected to complete his season-long loan deal from the Ligue 2 side by lunchtime today.
Meslier will likely come in as back-up to Kiko Casilla, following the club selling Bailey Peacock-Farrell to Burnley.
However, the youngster, who has previously been linked to Chelsea and Monaco, has quickly established himself as Lorient’s first choice keeper and made thirty appearances in all competitions last season.
So Leeds will hope that the 6’6” keeper will be able to provide competition for the Spaniard.
Arsenal youngster Eddie Nketiah scores stunning goal in training
Leeds are among several teams reportedly interested in Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers.
The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Championship side Swansea and is expected to be sent out on loan against this campaign.
The USA international has yet to make a Premier League appearance and the Whites could face competition from West Brom to seal a loan move.
However, Bielsa will no doubt be hoping his close friendship with Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will be enough to help seal the deal for the youngster.
