How much Real Madrid must pay to sign wantaway Man Utd star Paul Pogba
REAL MADRID are reportedly still keen on signing Manchester United star Paul Pogba, but it won’t be cheap for the La Liga giants.
Man Utd: Solskjaer reveals he's convinced Pogba will stay in team
Pogba has been linked with a move to Real Madrid all summer with the midfielder admitting it may be time to leave Old Trafford.
Real did plenty of business at the start of the summer, signing the likes of Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic.
But La Liga clubs have until September 2 to do any business so there is still plenty of time for Real to seal the signing of Pogba.
And the Mirror claim it will cost them a massive £270million overall.
It’s reported that Real Madrid fear United will demand at least £150m for Pogba after the Red Devils paid £89m for him three years ago.
Real would then have to give Pogba £500,000-a-week in wages, adding an extra £26m for every year.
It’s claimed that Pogba would demand a contract of at least four years, amounting to a huge £104m in wages.
There could be another £15m coming out of Real Madrid’s pockets going to Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola.
The Mirror add that the agent is demanding at least 10 per cent of any transfer fee for brokering the deal.
Former France international Frank Leboeuf believes Manchester United should do all they can to get rid of Pogba.
“I read something that Zlatan Ibrahimovic said to the board that if they want to keep Paul Pogba he has to be in a good mood,” he said.
“You cannot keep a player that doesn’t want to stay. That’s going to be the main problem for the dressing room, the culture, the board.
“If he’s decided to leave Manchester United like it seems he has, they have to let him go, they have to find him a club.
“Real Madrid was supposedly a good possibility but it seems the door has been closed, so it will be hard.
“Paul Pogba has to act as well, if he wants to have a very good career, at the end of the day.
“He’s still young, he has to fight again if he wants to be good and stay at Manchester United.
“He should have been more loyal. When you sign a contract, you know that you’re going to be there for four years.
“You see that with so many players that they sometimes just want to leave.
“The club helped him to become better, more richer, so you have to take care of the club that you signed for, discuss it with the board and the chairman, but don’t talk to the press. That’s disrespectful to the club.”
