Arsenal fans will love what has been said about Nicolas Pepe, Man Utd and Tottenham
ARSENAL’s signing of Nicolas Pepe is better than Manchester United’s and Tottenham’s biggest transfers of the window so far.
Arsenal: Nicolas Pepe shows off skills at training centre
That is according to former France and Chelsea centre-back Frank Leboeuf.
Arsenal signed Pepe from Ligue 1 side Lille last week for a club-record fee of £72million.
Leboeuf was asked which deal was the best between Pepe, Manchester United signing Harry Maguire and Tottenham’s £55m purchase of Tanguy Ndombele.
And the former World Cup winner was unequivocal with his response.
For me Pepe for Arsenal. Fantastic, fantastic. I really like him, I love him
“For me Pepe for Arsenal,” Leboeuf told ESPN FC.
“Fantastic, fantastic. I really like him, I love him.
“[He can play] anywhere at the front, anywhere really, that’s what I love about him.
“He’s better maybe on the side, left or right, but anywhere on the side.”
Ndombele joined Tottenham from Lyon after an impressive campaign last year for the French side.
Leboeuf is a fan of the 22-year-old but says he must add consistency to his game.
“I love him, he’s a great player, he has good qualities but he has a lack of consistency,” he added.
“He has to work harder on that.
Tottenham: Ndombele ‘I hope we can win the Champions League’
“Of course against Manchester City, away from home, he had a fantastic game.
“But sometimes you don’t see him and you go ‘where the hell is he?’ and you don’t see him.
“A great player, especially in the midfield zone.
“He has the quality but sometimes he has a lack of stamina and lack of consistency.”
