- Bruno Fernandes could yet join the Red Devils alongside Paulo Dybala if Paul Pogba leaves the club.
- Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to complete three signings, according to Sky Sports man.
- Stay tuned for all the latest from Old Trafford as Ed Woodward looks to build on deals for Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka so far.
Dybala tactical plan
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly has a tactical plan for Juventus star Paulo Dybala.
The Telegraph say Solskjaer is likely to line Dybala up on the right of United’s attack, despite struggling there for Juventus last season.
The Red Devils have signed Daniel James from Swansea, while Mason Greenwood has impressed on the flanks in pre-season.
However, it appears Solskjaer sees Dybala as the solution to his side’s wing woes.
Ronaldo backs transfer
Cristiano Ronaldo has given Juventus his approval over a deal to sign Romelu Lukaku.
That’s according to The Sun, who say the Portugal international would be happy to have the United star next to him next season.
Juventus are currently in talks with United over a deal that would see Lukaku swap places with Paulo Dybala.
But whether they can land the Argentine remains to be seen.
Lukaku replacement not priority
Manchester United do not see signing a striker as a priority even if they sell Romelu Lukaku, claims Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
“There’s very little time to get a replacement in even if the Lukaku deal does get done,” Sheth said on the Transfer Talk podcast.
“We understand Lyon striker Moussa Dembele will be on the shortlist at United if Lukaku was sold.
“Still have to question though whether United would bring in someone in that position if Lukaku leaves.
“It seems their priorities lie elsewhere. They want to bring in a centre-half, perhaps a midfielder, a right-sided player.
“[Ole Gunnar] Solskjaer may think he’s got enough in the striking department to be able to cope even if Lukaku was to leave.
“They’ve done a very impressive pre-season, the likes of Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford, they’ve performed really, really well on their pre-season tour.”
Man Utd Dybala talks change
Manchester United are discussing with Juventus the prospect of doing deals for Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku as separate transfers, reports say.
The Independent say that, while the initial plan was a swap deal, the goalposts have shifted.
It is claimed that United and Juventus are now debating whether or not to do the two deals serpately in order to make sure they go through smoothly.
The Red Devils will have to pay Everton an additional fee should Lukaku head to Juventus.
That’s because of an agreement reached with the Toffees when the forward touched down in July 2017.
And, as a result, United may now end up selling Lukaku for a fee that they can then dive into to compensate Everton.
That would mean the Dybala deal being done separately, too.
Dybala development
Manchester United want to sign Dybala from Juventus, who in turn want to lure Romelu Lukaku away from Old Trafford.
And the Independent say the Argentina international has ‘indicated a willingness to join the Red Devils’ in something that should make negotiations smoother.
The two clubs are currently talking through a deal that will see both Dybala and Lukaku exchange places.
Lukaku has grown frustrated with life at Old Trafford after two inconsistent years at the club.
The Belgium international has been informed by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that, should he stay, he will be Marcus Rashford’s deputy next term.
Dybala demand
Manchester United target Paulo Dybala has demanded big wages to move to Old Trafford, with Romelu Lukaku supposedly rubber-stamping his move to Juventus.
The Manchester Evening News say Lukaku has already rubber-stamped his move to Turin.
Regarding Dybala, though, and the deal may hinge on whether United are able to meet his wage demands.
The 25-year-old is seeking a salary worth £9million a year in order to make the move to Old Trafford.
Fernandes may join Man Utd if Pogba goes
Manchester United could sign both Paulo Dybala and Bruno Fernandes but only if Paul Pogba leaves the club, transfer expert Duncan Castle believes.
“I don’t think [signing Dybala] will make any significant difference to Bruno Fernandes,” Castles said on the Transfer Window Podcast.
“I think that if, and this is a very, very big if, Manchester United decide to do something with Bruno Fernandes, it will be driven by Paul Pogba’s exit from the club.
“I think he is one of the options, one of many options, they’ve been looking at as a possible replacement for Paul Pogba.”
Express Sport understands United have distanced themselves from a move for Fernandes.
