Man Utd warned against signing Paul Pogba replacement - ‘A better version of Fellaini’
MANCHESTER UNITED have been warned against signing Sergej Milinovic-Savic because he is just “a better version” of Marouane Fellaini.
Man United: Milinkovic-Savic a 'better Fellaini' says Robson
Milinkovic-Savic is one of a number of midfielders who have been linked with Manchester United this summer.
The Lazio star is said to be on a list of potential replacements for Paul Pogba if the Frenchman was to leave Old Trafford.
But former Arsenal midfielder Stewart Robson does not think Milinkovic-Savic would be a wise signing for United.
Robson says a couple of years ago the Serbia international did show plenty of promise.
Manchester United fans will hate me to say this: he’s almost a better version of Fellaini
But the pundit claims, since the World Cup in Russia last year, Milinkovic-Savic has not been able to perform at a high standard.
Robson has even compared the 24-year-old to former United midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
Fellaini was often criticised by United supporters during his time at the club, before he left for Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng Taishan in January.
“At the end of [the 2017/18] season, I would have said yes,” Robson said of Milinkovic-Savic.
“Milinkovic-Savic had had a great year at Lazio the year before, before the World Cup, where he played quite well there.
“But he had a really poor season for Lazio season.
“He looked a little bit one-dimensional. He’s not a real passer of the ball.
“He’s someone who can bring the ball down on his chest when crosses come in.

“If the goalkeeper kicks the ball he’ll flick them on.
“He almost plays as a second striker but from a midfield position.
“And Manchester United fans will hate me to say this: he’s almost a better version of Fellaini.”
